Mission: Helping Hands Resale Shoppe exists to generate financial resources through the sale of donated goods in order to fund local and international charities.
Vision: We see a community sharing their possessions in order to give to those in need.
Helping Hands Resale Shoppe was founded in 2010 as a way to help local and international charities in a very practical way. Through Helping Hands our community acts as the hands and feet of Christ by donating goods, volunteering to serve and shopping at the store. Each week a charity or ministry is designated to receive a share of the proceeds. We currently have fund raising resale locations in Chillicothe, Canton, Peoria Heights and Pontiac, Illinois.

Let's show our support for Art Without Boundaries this week!
*Art Without Boundaries uses all donations towards scholarships that pay for the service of MnemeTherapy®, which is provided to the residents of nursing homes, students of schools and private home settings.
The therapy provided includes singing, movement, directed painting and storytelling to provide a rewarding experience and to improve everyday life for those with Alzheimer's, dementia, stroke, Parkinson's, TBI, depression and Autism to name a few. This has been such a successful therapy that nursing facilities would hope to have all their residents participate.
MnemeTherapy® can forewarn of a resident being a fall risk, helps identify where there are holes in their vision helping with spatial acuity, verbalization, following directions and combativeness.
Today, nursing homes have NO money for outside therapies like MnemeTherapy®, and Art Without Boundaries is greatly appreciative of donations to keep this one-on-one programming available to these amazing individuals. Up to 45 minutes is dedicated to each resident to participate, where in the course of the therapy, through listening and following directions, they will complete a beautiful painting worthy of being framed. The therapy continues long after it is completed as caregivers and family can now interact with their loved one in regard to their finished painting. It is a truly remarkable and unique process!
Dori Thompson has been a Certified Master MnemeTherapist® since 2011 and serves Central and Northern Illinois, being the only MT in the state. Dori has been a guest presenter for the Regional Alzheimer's Association Annual Conference and a recipient of The Omini Arts Visual Artist of the Year Award for her dedication for keeping the arts alive within her community and for bringing Art Without Boundaries to the state of Illinois. Dori is incredibly thankful for all the support she has received throughout the years. She could not possibly keep this organization going without your financial help. Thank you and God Bless!
